UM6P

Summary

University Mohammed VI Polytechnic was founded with an ambitious mandate: to become Africa’s leading institution for scientific research, development and product innovation. The strategic challenge was to evolve the brand from a nationally recognised university into a globally respected centre of excellence, positioning it at the forefront of Africa’s scientific and technological advancement.

Scope

The rebrand focused on articulating a clear long-term ambition — establishing UM6P as the continent’s hub for applied research and innovation. This meant shifting perception from a traditional academic institution toward a future-facing ecosystem where education, research and industry collaborate to solve real-world challenges across agriculture, sustainability, energy and technology.

The visual and verbal identity was refined to reflect this ambition. Rooted in African progress yet globally fluent, the brand balances scientific rigour with a sense of optimism and forward momentum. The architecture of the campus itself reinforces this vision, designed by renowned architect Ricardo Bofill to embody openness, collaboration and intellectual exchange — positioning the university as both a physical and symbolic gateway to Africa’s research future.

Today, UM6P continues to attract international partnerships, leading academics and pioneering research initiatives, strengthening its position as a catalyst for innovation across the continent. Its growth reflects the broader transformation underway in Morocco, where investment in education, infrastructure and technology is driving the country’s emergence as a knowledge and innovation hub for Africa and beyond.
